Hunan Normal University was firstly founded in 1938 with its name of “National Normal College”. After nearly 70 years’ development, HNU has become an academic institution of higher education with a full range of disciplines, a national “211 Project” university--one of the country's 100 key universities in the 21st century that enjoy priority in obtaining national funds.

Now it is welcoming its 70^th anniversary celebration in October, 2008. It will be a grand festival for the entire faculty and students of HNU to celebrate the 70^th anniversary and we are enthusiastically expecting all the alumni and friends home and abroad to join our celebration then in various ways.
