Bai Xiaolin, Consul General of USA Consulate General in Wuhan, Visited HNU
On 26th of August, Bai Xiaolin, Consul General of USA Consulate General in Wuhan visited HNU on invitation. HNU¡¯s Vice President Jiang Hongxin welcomed Ms. Bai Xiaolin on behalf of the university.
At their meeting, Vice President Jiang Hongxin gave Ms. Bai a brief introduction about HNU and its exchange activities and programs with higher education institutes of America. He extended congratulations to Ms. Bai for the coming opening of USA Consulate General in Wuhan as well as her shouldering its first consul general, of whom he also expected some guidance and supports to the HNU¡¯s exchange and cooperation with American higher education institutes. Mrs. Bai assured that she was willing to be of help in the concerned field and invited Vice President Jiang Hongxin to the Consulate General¡¯s opening ceremony which would be held on September 23rd.
During her stay at HNU, Ms. Bai was showed around the campus such as the university library and the Yuewang Pavilion.
Bai Xiaolin, born in Taiwan, China, is the first female Chinese American Consul General in USA. Once an announcer in America, she had recorded the well-known English 900. She also has taken a role in the compiling of Intermediate American English. She once worked at USA Consulate General in Shenyang and Guangzhuou in charge of journalism and culture exchange, as well at the Foreign Journalist Center of (USA) State Department.
