A French educational delegation led by Albert Prevos, Inspector General of French Ministry of Education arrived at HNU on the morning of April 8. They had a talk with Lu Yuehua, Vice Chairman of the University Council and Jiang Hongxin, Vice President of HNU in the President Building.

Vice President Jiang Hongxin delivered a welcome address at the ceremony hosted by OIEC Director Ran Yi. He introduced HNU’s exchange and cooperation with French education circle. Jiang said in his speech that HNU has long valued the relationship with French universities and organizations, the friendship and cooperation with University of Toulon and Lyon 2 University have been established. Besides, four HNU’s delegations have finished their visits in France, Lu Yuehua, Vice Chairman of the University Council will also pay a visit to France in June. Although HNU and its counterparts have been keeping a frequent communication, a French language department has not been established at HNU. Jiang hoped that the Inspector General’s visit could promote the exchange and cooperation between HNU and French universities and organizations, and hasten the establishment of French language department at HNU.

Albert Prevos expressed his thanks for the warm reception and said that this visit was aimed at enhancing the exchange and cooperation with HNU in language teaching. He also pointed out Chinese language was popular in France, and more institutions of Chinese promotion were expected. In the talk, the French side concerned much about French teaching at HNU and was willing to offer help in teachers and books.
