HNU¡¯s Winter Camp for Indonesian Youths of Chinese Origin Concluded
On the afternoon of Jan 7th, 2008, Lushan Hotel of Changsha, a party saw the end of the 2007 Winter Camp for Indonesian Youths of Chinese Origin, which was hosted by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council (OCAOSC), Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hunan Province (FOCAOHP), undertaken by HNU. HNU¡¯s Vice-President Jiang Hongxin, Dean Yang Ling of HNU¡¯s International College of Chinese Language and Culture attended the closure, and handed certificates to the trainees. The ceremony was hosted by Peng Liwei, Deputy Director of the President Office.
Jiang Hongxin sent his congratulations to the camp members for their meaningful experience in the camp. ¡°The winter camp has broadened the members¡¯ understanding of their ancestral home China, promoted their mutual friendship.¡± He also hoped that there would be many more foreign citizens of Chinese origin participating in such activities.
Chen Mingshu, Deputy Dean of HNU¡¯s International College of Chinese Language and Culture, summed up the camp activities. He appreciated it that the camp was very successful. During the half month, all the members paid visits to the Provincial Museum, Chairman Mao¡¯s Former Residence in Shaoshan, ranged across the magnetic Zhangjiajie National Park. They also learned calligraphy, paper-cut and martial art. They had touched the heart of China¡¯s long and profound cultural history. He said they would always be welcomed to come back.
¡°The winter camp brings us to our ancestral home. We can enjoy the keen affection and also get interested in learning Chinese. We all know that Chinese is becoming more and more important across the whole world. We will go all out to study it well.¡± Lin Lianhua, a camp member of Surabaya in Indonesia said as a representative.

After the closure, a martial art show was given as a prelude to the party. Members of martial art class presented Taichi, in which the charming Chinese martial art found full expression, members from dance class gave the audience a beautiful piece of dance ¡°the beautiful jasmine flower¡±. All the performances were well arranged, the meeting room was full of joy and laughter.
