A Delegation from Maryland, USA Visited HNU

Hunan Normal University, Changsha, April 25, 2007: A six-member delegation headed by Mr. Robert Archie, a commissioner of Annapolis City, Maryland, U.S., visited HNU on April 24. The delegation was constituted by one commissioner, Susan Keller, from Frostburg City, and three representatives from Frostburg Sate University. Prof. Jiang Hongxin, Vice-president of HNU, and other principals of departments concerned held a welcome ceremony for the delegation. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Zhuang Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Hunan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On the ceremony, Prof. Jiang extended his warm welcome to the guests and introduced them the general picture of HNU. In addition, Prof. Jiang pointed out the similarities between both universities in history of development, concept of running a university and geographical settings. Prof. Jiang was convinced that there exists a promising perspective in the cooperation of two universities.

Mr. Robert Archie expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality of HNU, hoping Frostburg State University and HNU fruitful cooperation in the future. Both sides discussed the exchange programs for students and faculty.
