Hunan Normal University, Changsha, March 30, 2007: Li Guize (Deputy Director of International Exchange Office of Hoseo University of Korea) and Jin Chunming (Representative of Weihai Office of Hoseo University) visited HNU on March 30. Professor Jiang Hongxin, Vice-president of HNU, held a welcoming ceremony for their arrival. During the ceremony, which was presided over by Tang Jianwen (Deputy Director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation), Professor Jiang signed a letter of intent of educational cooperation and exchange and that of student exchange program and joint degree program with Hoseo University.

On behalf of HNU, Professor Jiang Hongxin expressed his warm welcome to the Korean guests. He made an introduction of HNU and mentioned his own three visits to ROK, saying that there exist quite a lot common areas in both sides in terms of concepts of running a university and that both Hunan people and Korean people enjoy many similarities in characteristics, and holding a firm belief that there exist a good foundation and a promising perspective for the cooperation of two sides. Mr. Li Guize extended his sincere gratitude to the hospitality of HNU and expressed his admiration to the favorable academic environment. At the same time, Mr. Li invite his counterpart to Hoseo University so as to enhance the friendship of both universities.

Recently, HNU has been in a frequent exchanging with many universities of ROK. Academic exchange and scientific research cooperation are developing into a more and more in-depth extent. The year of 2006 is the ‘Year of ROK’ in light of the international exchange affairs of HNU, when ‘Week of Korean Culture 2006’ was started up and a research centre of Korean language was established. Hoseo University enjoys a wide reputation in ROK. The visit paid by Mr. Li and Mr. Jin and the subscription of the letters of intent will provide a totally new opportunity for the students of HNU to pursue their study in ROK.
