Commencement 0f 2007 Held for Overseas Students at HNU




On January 16th, 2008, commencement for the second semester of 2007 was held at HNU¡¯s International College of Chinese Language and Culture (ICCLC), on which thirty five overseas students from U.S.A., Russia, Japan, Turkey and other seven countries graduated. Faculties and students of ICCLC and relevant departments attended.
Chen Mingshu, Associate Dean of ICCLC reviewed the teaching and activities during the past semester, and honored the excellent students, he also sincerely hoped that all of the overseas students would keep on studying Chinese language after returning home. Piao Richeng, Deputy Director of HNU¡¯s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (OIEC), extended his congratulations to them.
¡°Thank you all our dear teachers, I love you, and I love Chinese language. HNU is a good place for study. I shall go on studying Chinese,¡± said Takahashi Mina from Japan, which also expressed the feelings of all the overseas students.
During the second semester of 2007, besides devoting a lot to Chinese language teaching, ICCLC organized students to take part in many extracurricular activities. In Changsha city¡¯s annual Foreigners Talent Show Competition at the end of last year, all the six programs won prizes, among which Lei Zheng from U.S.A. got the sole first, when attending HNU¡¯ sports meeting for the first time in last November, they bagged two of the first prizes; at the opening ceremony of the university art festival, they picked the second prize for their wonderful performance; HNU¡¯s first speaking contest and recitation contest also have been sponsored for the overseas students.
