Hunan Normal University, Changsha, Dec.18, 2006: This morning, the Academic Seminar of Korean Classical Literature and the Publishing Ceremony of Essence of Korean Classical Literature lightened the climax of 2006 Korean Culture Week at HNU. Deputy Director of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hunan Province and Deputy Chair of Hunan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (HPAFFC) Yu Haixia, Secretary General of HPAFFC Cai Guoqi, Executive Secretary General of Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange Tang Zhiliang, Director of Yuelu Press Zeng Zhutao, Vice Manager General of Hunan Publishing Investment Holding Group Zhang Tianming, Head of Delegation of Korean Classical Literature and Korean Traditional Culture Kim Dong-Uk, Business Consultant of Changsha Government Lee Jongtae (Korean citizen), Chairman of HNU's Council Zhang Guoji, Vice Chairman Lu Yuehua, Secretary of Discipline Inspection of CCP at HNU Zhou Junwu and other concerned guests were presented. Vice-President of HNU Jiang Hongxin hosted the ceremony.

Zhang Guoji addressed that he, on behalf of HNU, welcomed both Korean and local guests, and sent special thanks to 24 teachers and students from Sangmyung University, Cheju National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Baekseok University, Daewon Science College, Semyung University, etc., and appreciated Prof. Chen Puqing for his hard work on compiling Essence of Korean Classical Literature. He hoped that HNU could cooperate and exchange with Korean counterparts in more fields and multi-dimensions. Sangmyung University awarded Prof. Chen Puqing with a Medal of Contribution. During the Korean Culture Week, a series of lectures, seminars, cultural display, photography exhibition, Korean movies and Korean Traditional Arts Performances attracted a large number of teachers and students.

Up to then, 2006 Korean Culture Week at HNU came to a successful conclusion. The Culture Week was a joint activity conducted by Cheongju National University of Education, Sangmyung University and several other Korean universities and institutions and strongly supported by HPAFFC, Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange, Yuelu Press, Hunan Social Science Academy, Korean Literature Translation Institution, Korean Embassy in China, CHINA 21, etc.
