Liu Yun, male, 71 years old, professor of Hunan Normal University，Ph.D. supervisor，academician of Chinese Academic of Engineering，national expert with outstanding contribution. He was awarded the National Advanced Worker, National Advanced Worker of Science and Technology in Colleges and Universities, Model Worker of Hunan Province and the Subvention of the State Council. At present, he is the chief director of Hunan Academy of Fisheries, the president of Academic Committee of Hunan Normal University, the president of Academic Committee of Key Labs of the Protein Chemistry and the Fish Developmental Biology, the director of editorial committee of 《Inland Aquatic Products 》.He was the vise president of Hunan Normal University, the vice director of China Society of Fisheries, the vice president of Hunan Science Association, the vice president of the Committee of Original and Excellent Breed Examining and Approving, commissioner of the 6th, 7th, 8th National Political Consultative Conference.

      Academician Liu Yun has been studying the breeding physiology of fishes and economical aquatic lives since 1950s,and was awarded the third prize of National Technological Progress Prize, the third prize of National Invention Prize, the first, second prize of the National Education Committee's Technological Progress Prize, the first, second and third prize of the Hunan Technological Progress Prize, the second prize of the National Aquatic Products Headquarters’ Technological Progress Prize, the prize of Technology for the Development of Hunan Province, the educational prize of “Xu Teli Prize” of Hunan Province, the “Zeng Xianxin  Educational Fund” prize of the Teachers of the Higher Normal Universities. Over 40 of his thesises were published in 《Aquaculture》,《Aquatic Lives Journal》,《Aquatic Products Transaction》,《China Aquaculture Science》,《Studies on Zoology》 and other journals. He wrote the book of 《 The Breeding Physiology of China's Breeding Fishes》and coauthored two books with others. In the aspect of educating people as well as imparting book knowledge, Liu Yun  has cultivated a large number of masters and doctors, among whom have been promoted to professors or associated professors. Some of them have even acquired outstanding achievements abroad.

      Academician Liu Yun, successively took charge of series of studies on national and provincial key subjects, such as the National 863 Project, National Natural Scientific Fund Project and over ten provincial study projects. He has made great achievement on these projects. His “Studies on Quadplex Crucian of Different Sources and Triploid Xiangyun Crucian ” and other studies have already brought extraordinary society benefits and economical benefits. He has contributed greatly to our country’s development of breeding fishes and aquatic product.
