¡¡¡¡Li Chunhua, male, was born on 20 December 1984 in an ordinary peasant family of Hengyang, Hunan Province,P.R. China. Having passed the Unified National Entrance Examination, he was admitted to the Historical Culture College of Hunan Normal University in September 2003. He studied very conscientiously, was always willing to help others.  So as a student he was well liked for his good character and academic performance.
¡¡¡¡On July 21, 2006 Li Chunhua successfully saved two children from drowning in a pond in his hometown, but, unfortunately, due to physical exhaustion, lost his own life. Li Chunhua's sacrifice is indeed honorable.

¡¡¡¡His heroic deeds spread quickly all over China through the Internet and other media, and many touching stories of his lifetime have since been gradually recollected. The entire Chinese nation is moved by his heroic self-sacrifice for the lives of others, his noble qualities such as his willingness to serve others and his strengths in self-reliance. Accordingly, he was awarded by Hunan Normal University and other Provincial governmental institutions honorary titles such as Outstanding Student of Sacrificing Self for Saving Others, Good Youth of Sacrificing Self for Saving Others and Excellent University Student of Hunan Province.
¡¡¡¡China Central Committee of the Communist Youth League made a decision, on the 27th of October, 2006, to posthumously confer on Li Chunhua such an honorary title as ¡°National Outstanding Student Leader of Sacrificing Self to Save Others¡±. Li Chunhua has become a role model for China¡¯s youth in the new era.
